Eric Smoodin is General Editor of Screen Studies. He is Professor of American Studies and Film Studies at the University of California, Davis, and earned his PhD in Film Studies from UCLA.

His most recent books are Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (BFI Publishing) and Regarding Frank Capra: Audience, Celebrity, and American Film Studies, 1930-1960 (Duke University Press). He has edited or co-edited several volumes, including Disney Discourse: Producing the Magic Kingdom (Routledge), The American Film History Reader (Routledge), Hollywood Quarterly: Film Culture in Postwar America, 1945-1957 (University of California Press), and Looking Past the Screen: Case Studies in American Film History and Method (Duke University Press).
